Abstract:
A young man in Houston, Texas in the year 2010 named Earl Slokum tries to help his unemployed friends by sharing the wealth he receives for acting the part of a local preacher at a megachurch. Earl soon learns that the acting he is being paid for is part of a nefarious scheme, which will lead to a man trying to kill him with a shotgun, an adventure involving a cat-napper, and various YouTube videos of strange design. As Earl suffers various misadventures he falls in love with the wife of the preacher he has been paid to impersonate, and he tries to navigate these bizarre occurrences while staying true to his two friends.
