1.0 FILL UNDER SLABS
Fill under stab shall be clean sand free of roots, trash and other
deleterious materials. Sand shall be compacted to minimum of 98%
maximum density. Existing minor trenches within area designated "4 Inch
Concrete Slab on Compacted earth"' shqll have any existing side wall
removed to 4" below bottom of slab, all foreign matter (pipes, etc.)
removed and area backfilled with sand (to specifications as to quality
and density the same as above).
2.0 CONCRETE FOR SLABS
Concrete shall be ready mix minimum 2,500 p.s.i. in 28 days for 4"
slabs on grade and shall be ready mix minimum 3,000 p.s.i. in 28 days
for 6" slabs over pipe trenches. All construction and expansion joints
shall be left carefully tooled and free of mortar and concrete. Any
surface unevenness of more than 1/8 inch as measured with a 10 foot
length straight edge shall be corrected immediately after screening of
the surface is completed.
3.0 STEEL
3.01 REINFORCING STEEL
Reinforcing steel shall be deformed bars of size indicated on plan,
bent and placed in accordance with "Building Code Requirements for
Reinforced Concrete (ACI 318-63).
3.02 ROLLED STEEL
Angle iron indicated on plan shall be ASTM A7 or ,A36 Designation
placed on flat, clean concrete surfaces at top of concrete walls of
pipe trenches.
4.0 ELECTRIC DUCTS
ELectric ducts shall be placed in concrete floors in locations indicated
on tfbeplan. Any deviation from plan shall be shown on an as-built plan
provided'l-te. the Owner.
Lines indicated oi>plan as #4 shall be No. 4 galvanizxad iron Walkerduct
.. as manufactured by Walkxe, Parkersburg Division of-Textron, Inc. Standard
Junction Boxes shall be provided at all juo[etons with No. 2 and No. 4
ducts. Lines indicated on plan- as 4f- Shall be No. 2 galvanized iron
Walkerduct (by same manufacturer I.0uct ends shall be approximately 8"
from wall face, or more if rest puhout dictates a shorter length,
but last punchout in lin all be no more" thn 24" from wall face.
All ducts sha.k be place in concrete slabs on' ppports supplied by
ductwork mnpawacturer with supports, vertical locatic.n in the slab,
junctiop1 and connections placed in accordance with manufacturer's
instructions.
