Thank you for your good letter of June 24. I am so glad that you all
approve of re-doing the roof correctly, if funds can be obtained.
I sympathize with the need for i naediate protective action I under-
stand that the City Building Inspector feels that temporary measures can be
taken for a negligible cost if time is required to solve the roof problem on
a correct, permanent basis.
I guess the next move is to get three or four bids on the authentic
roof--which involves new framing as well as shingles. We'd be glad to help on
specifications for this, and support any request to the City and the Burt Trus-
tees for funds to do it authentically, as of the ante-bellum period.
And I'll certainly attend Friday's meeting.
