Agusta [Augusta] Geo., Aug 4th 1862

Dear Wife
This leaves me well at present Hoping to find you the Same. Wee Arrive here Sunday
morning and calculate to leave for Vaginia [Virginia] this evening. My Dear Wife do not
greave for me. I will write To you whin I get to richman [Richmond]. Wee got So Far
Safe I had my ambrotipe [ambrotype] taken and I Send it By mr John Briant [possibly
John O. Bryant, Company A]. Told him To leav it mosley hall [Moseley Hall] in care of
mr WetherSpoon. Your affectionate husband,
