They are joined by Miss Liza and Big Bessie. This is followed closely by what is referred to as the "Obituary Tape" which was made at the request of Miss Liza. On the tape which was made in August 1967 Miss Liza answers questions from Dr. Miles regarding her life experiences such as her growing up in Jessup, Georgia, her education, her two marriages, and her various moves. The third session is Miss Bessie's narrative. The recording was made Sunday afternoon, June 30, 1968, after the funeral of Miss Liza. Miss Bessie recounts things about Miss Liza and her life. The fourth and last session was recorded on Tuesday, July 2, 1968, in Fred Ward's store. Various stories about Miss Liza and others are cited by Fred Ward.
