of the university, is joining the UF

Audit and Operations Review.

and co-CEO of Sanifill, Inc. He is
also founder of the Atlanta-based
health and beauty aids manu-
facturer, House of Cheatham, Inc.
Mr. Warrington has served as
president of the UF National Alumni
Association and Gator Boosters. He
has also served as a member of the
UF Council of Advisors and the UF

Warrington College of Business
carries his name.
ERP or, UF Bridges
One of the most far-reaching
current efforts on campus is the
ERP, or Enterprise Resource
Planning, project. This project
involves a multi-year effort to
address devolution from the State
of Florida. The transition involves,
among other things, moving away
from legacy systems like FLAIR.
PeopleSoft Enterprise Applications
Suite is to be implemented across a
range of university processes and
activities, starting with financial
and payroll systems.
OIG will have a critical role as the
new systems and processes "go
live." The Chancellor has charged
university IG offices with certifying
the transition and the controls of
the new systems and processes
before they are activated.
This office remains closely
involved as the timeline unfolds -
through the full-time commitment
of the Associate Inspector General
to the ERP and the on-going
participation of the Inspector
General and other office staff in
various transition advisory and IT
committees.
As of February 26, a new name has
been approved for the ERP project -
UF Bridges. For more information,
including status reports and critical
dates, please see the project
website at http://slate.erp.ufl.edu/.

We have completed an audit of
Grade-A-Gator, the web-based gra-
ding system introduced by the
Office of the University Registrar
(OUR) in the Spring of 2000. This
system permits Graders and Grade
Coordinators to enter grades from
any location with web access.
These positions are established
within the colleges on a semester-
by-semester basis.
Our testing of grade input and
access controls supported that
appropriate controls were in place
for confidentiality and complete-
ness in grade processing.
OUR will be updating Grade-A-Gator
guidelines to require that posted
grades be verified by the course
instructor. The Provost will also
develop and communicate policies
addressing the requirements for
system use and authorization of
roles for grade processing.
