FOREMOST DAIRY PRODUCTS, INC. is committed to a constructiveand
comprehensive program of dairy development in the southeastern 'I a
states. Nothing will give greater stimulus to production than a profit-
able outlet for milk and its products. A good dairy herd means daily
cash income, and many farmers would like to raise dairy cattle if they
could be assured of a ready market for their surplus. Florida offers ,
splendid natural advantages for dairy fanning. There are a few natural <
disadvantages, but they will be quickly overcome when the economic prob-
lems are solved. Florida dairymen have in the past been faced with the
problem of finding a market for their milk during the summer months. _

The solution lies in the development of more uses for dairy products, and
the export to other states of the surplus, and FOREMOST is constantly at -
work with a staff of scientific experts, in bringing this about.

Many states produce less than one fourth of the dairy products they con-
sume, and they consume less than one fourth of what their health re-
quires. Florida imports annually something like $22,000,000 worth of
dairy products, and the bulk of these imports enter the state during the
winter, when the population is swelled by something like a million and a .
quarter winter tourists. For some time to come the peak surplus must be ..
imported from sister southern states which will allow the Florida dairy '..:
farmer to have an increasingly larger business, more profitable in char- ,
acter, which Foremost is endeavoring to create.

With the modern facilities which FOREMOST now controls throughoutthe 1
southeastern section of the country, it is in a position to give producers .
every promise of a twelve-month market. It has the necessary sales
organization, the proper plant equipment, and a research staff which is ,
developing many new uses and new outlets for dairy products. Its aim is
to provide a profitable income for the producer on the one hand, and
through its volume and scientific distribution methods, to make these
products available to the consumer at the lowest possible price, on the

other hand.Foremost. .

Obviously, the Florida Citrus Exchange is the logical .'

nucleus about which to build a unified marketing program .' t ;

in the Florida citrus industry. Its affiliated associations '':. :

already have wide-spread packing facilities
