Summary.
The Marshal has received the report of Monsieur
Delorme, the Ordonnateur, which establishes the am-
ounts due by the Planters of Tobago to the King, for
the Crown Lands granted to them since the year 1765.
This amount is 2,025,831 livres Tournois;of which
1,224,695 are acknowledged debts for the lands and
801,136 doubtful amounts, proofs of these payments not
being available or not produced.
His Majesty, the King, considers that these debts
should be collected as he has no intention of making
such a generous gift to the Planters.
These debts are to be collected in ten instalments;
one payment being made every six months, extending
2
over the five years, 1786 to 1791.
The lands, of those who fail to pay these instal.
ments, are to be sold to the highest bidders in public
auction or added to the Royal Domaine.
Castries.
