By the Commissioners for executing the Office of
LORD HIGH ADMIRAL of England
Whereas His Majesty hath been informed that Captain
Poyntz and others have undertaken to settle a plantation in
the Island of Tobago to the prejudice of His Majesty's
plantations, His Majesty hath therefore been pleased by
His Order in Council of the I4th instant to direct that a stop
be forthwith put to the ship of the said Captain Poyntz, we
do hereby therefore direct and require you to stop Captain
Poyntz ship now at Gravesend or thereabouts until further
orders ; for which this shall be your warrant.
Dated at Derby House this I5th day of December, 1683.
