very few of our citizenry have had the opportunityto
read the recommendations of the Met Conner and Associates U. S. D. A. ChoiceCHUCK .

report on their survey of Flagler County, we shall take this opportunity r <
to review the ten highlights rather briefly. ROAST Ib 58U.

.1. Take advantage of, develop and promote the exceptional .
facilities available such as beaches, lakes and state parks.

2. There is a trend to 'expand library facilities and state
S. D. A. ChoiceCHUCK
funds are available if proper programs are developed.

3. While the report was complimentary of available medical .
and hospital facilities it was recommended that a nursing STEAK Ib.Choice 68
or'recuPerative home, either private or public; was needed at .
Bunnell or Flagler Beach.

4. Regulations' should be provided'for water, streets, drain
age and sewage. This could save the future homeowners as well JuicyALL
and the official boards many problems In the future. ,

5. The county sanitary. land fill to provide for garbage disposal.
6. In Bunnell, particularly It recommended that the
county purchase rlghts-of-way for future roads that will be
needed to provide for the easy flow of traffic in the future. This
not only would be good planning, but could considerably decrease "Sugar Creek" SLAB Streak O'Lean

7. the County cost of zoning purchase.was pointed out as needed to protect SMOKED BACON WHITE BACON

property owners from undesirable developments being erectedin lb.
their neighborhood. It was stated that Senate Bill 4 provideda SLICED FREE 3 C C
zoning law that was designed for small counties. To be put
into effect in Flagler County would require only a local county
ordinance. Fresh Florida /grade "A" D & D ((2-21/2 Ib. Avg.) WHOLE

8. Building code was needed ,to protect home owners from
shoddy construction. It was suggested that Southern Standard"
Building Code, which Is used In most counties and cities, be 2 forWESTERN
adopted by the county.

9. A Capital Improvements Program was. recommended
whereby the county could plan ahead with proper budgeting for
specific needs that: could not be paid for in any one fiscal year.It .
was suggested that a five to seven year capital funds budget
established., I BEEF LIVER Ib. 58* |
10. Finally, it was recommended that Flagler County set SELECT '
up a plan for Continuous planning. This could be accomplishedby
pne or more of the following methods: (1) continue the Citizens ,
Zestee Jar
Advisory ,Committee,, (2) Florida Development Commission
(3) private planning consultants such as Mel: Conner and SALAD DRESSING Ea. 330 MAXWELL HOUSE
Associates, (4)) Central Florida Regionaf Planning Council, 'and ,1'-
(5) City-Planning Council to be set up locally. We 38 oz. Bottle COFFEETin
realize that these recommendations have been listed Ea.
too briefly. We believe that each recommendation has merit., CRISCO ',OIL 69C 1 390 ,
We shall discuss several of the recommendations in. detail In
