Abstract: The computer lab shown has different aspects than the usual computer lab. Don Grossman, a PhD. graduate student in education at the University of Florida, has designed computers around the needs of disabled University of Florida students. The computers have large print and also are linked to a Kerswell Reading machine. The computer is designed to both read and speak to the student. Grossman became interested in such computer design as he himself had to cut short his career in architectural engineering when he discovered that he was losing his eyesight.
