CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY SECRETARIAT
STAFF VACANCIES
Applications are invited from suitably quali-
fied persons for the following posts in the
Caribbean Community Secretariat:
(iii Chief Statistician
Duties: The Chief Statistician is immediate-
ly responsible to the Director, Trade and
Integration Division for the performance of
his dut es which are:
(a) to direct the statistical unit and to
develop statistical series relevant to
the integration movement.
(b) to liaise with the statistical officers of
member CARICOM countries and with
international agencies.
(c) to service meetings of, the Standing
Committee of Caribbean Statisticians
and to provide statistical services to the
various sections of the Secretariat.

(d) to carry out the day to day supervision
of the Statistical Unit.
(e) such other duties as may be assigned
from time to time.
Qualifications: An honours degree in statis-
tics or its equivalent. A higher degree or
relevant professional experience would be an
advantage. A thorough knowledge of Carib-
bean statistical sources and data including
work experience in one of the statistical
offices in the area would also be an advantage.
Salary and Allowances:. Salary and house
allowance are paid at the rate of G$1,573.25
and G$271.25 per month respectively.
(ii) Statistician
Duties: The Statistician is immediately res-
ponsible to the Chief Statistician for the per-
formance of his duties which are:
(a) to assist the Chief Statistician in the
execution of his duties.
(b) to develop aid apply relevant method-
ologies in producing regional data
series.
(c) to assist in the day to day supervision
of the Statistical Unit.
(d) such other duties as may be assigned
from time to time.
Qualifications: A good first degree in Statis-
tics and Economics. Members of the Insti-
tute of Statisticians will also be considered.
A knowledge of Caribbean statistical sources
and data would be an advantage.
Salary and Allowances: The salary scale is
G$965.65 X $32.55 $1,095.85 a month. A
house allowance of G$271.25 is also payable.

REGISTRATION OF LAUDERS BANANA
BOXING PLANT
It is-notified for general information that
Lauders Banana Boxing Plant has been duly
registered as a Co-operative Society in accord-
ance with the Cooperative Societies Ordinance
No. 11 of 1963 on Monday 30th December, 19174.
All interested persons are requested to take
note.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given for general inform-
ation that Ruth Theodore Richards of Richmond
Hill intends to apply to the Judge of the High
Court in Chambers, Kingstown for an order to
have her marriage registered in the Marriage-
Register of the State.
The said Ruth Theodore .Richards was
married on the 30th day of June, 1940 at the
Fountain Church.
