Tenders for submission to the Governor in Council will be
received at the Secretariat until Noon, Saturday the 26th Novem-
ber, 1960, for the following Printing Contract:-
The printing of a weekly Gazette and Supplement, the ma-
terial for which will be supplied each week from this Office on
a day to be agreed upon with the tenderer. The Gazette will be
in foolscap size and the Supplement containing subsidiary leg-
islation will be in pamphlet size. The tender should cover the
cost and delivery of 300 copies to this Office weekly on the day
of publication.
The tenderer should also quote the rate per each additional
50 copies in excess of 300. Samples of paper to be used should
be submitted.

Office, Board of Pilotage
The following excerpts from the Rules made under the Boat
Registration Act and supplementary Rules made under the Pilot-
age Act are brought to the attention of boat owners.
(1) The owner of a boat who desires to obtain a licence
shall apply in writing to the Board, and shall state in such ap-
plication his nationality and the names and address and national-
ity of the Master and members of the crew of such boat.

(2) No Boat shall ply for Hire or offer for charter within
the harbour unless the master or other person in charge thereof
holds a Licence under the rules.
(3) The Board may cancel the licence of any boat if the
owner who obtained such licence has transferred the boat to
another, or if the master or any member of the crew is a person
of whose name, address and nationality the Board has not been
notified in writing.
(4) Every Boat before being licensed shall be submitted to
the Board for inspection sometime during the month of Decem-
ber in every year.
(5) The Board may require that all or any of the equipment
mentioned in Paragraph 5 of the rules be stamped or stencilled
with such marks of Identification as it shall direct.
In order that the Board may arrange a schedule for the in-
specting Committees, Boat owners are requested to cooperate.
Boats not inspected and Licensed before December 31st will not
be allowed to operate, until the next schedule of inspection is
arranged by the Board.
The foregoing Rules apply also to Sail Boats as well as to
Motor Boats.

IMPORTATION FOR SOME TEMPORARY PURPOSE
UNDER PARAGRAPH 5 OF THE 4TH SCHEDULE
TO THE TARIFF ACT
1. To avoid inconvenience and the possibility of paying
full duty on equipment and other articles imported for some
temporary purpose under paragraph 5 of the Fourth Schedule to
the Tariff Act, the following requirements, which will be rigidly
enforced, are published for your information:-
a. Application should be made to the Governor-in-Council
through this department stating full particulars, the pur-
pose for which imported, a complete list of equipment
with values and if obtainable locally.
b. Applicant must await decision of the Governor-in-Coun-
cil before importing equipment or articles.
c. If approval be given applicant must enter into a bond
as required by the paragraph quoted.
2. Should equipment and articles be imported contrary to
the above requirement, the consignee will be liable for the full
amount of duty based on the C.I.F. valuation.

the importation of firecrackers and impact flash salutes are pro-
hibited and any person importing or being a party to the importa-
tion or bringing in thereof shall for each offence be liable to a
penalty of two hundred pounds (200).

to the apprehension of anyone connected with the smuggling of
these goods will be paid a reward of twenty pounds (20).

THE EXPLOSIVES ACT
(Chapter 278)
In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 3
of The Explosives Act the Governor in Council hereby makes
the following Rules:
X 1. These Rules may be cited as the Explosives and Volatile
Substances Amendment Rules, 1960.

2. The Explosives and Volatile Substances Rules 1953 are
hereby amended by deleting sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph (1)
of rule 4 thereof and substituting therefore the following:
"(c) high explosives not exceeding 5,000 pounds provided
such explosives is withdrawn from a Government or
approved store by a person who on each occasion has
obtained a permit from the Commissioner of Police
or the Commissioner in an out island, and such permit
shall not be given unless the Commissioner of Police
or the Commissioner in an out island is satisfied that
it is necessary for the holder to be in possession of
high explosives to the amount stated in the permit and
that the holder will make suitable arrangements for
the storage thereof".
