STATUTORY INSTRUMENT No. 1 of 1961.

APPOINTMENT IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE (SHIPPING)
(DELEGATION) REGULATIONS, 1961.

Made by His Excellency the Governor-General under article 103
of the Constitution.

ARRANGEMENT OF REGULATIONS

Regulation

1. Short title.

2. Delegation to Deputy Governor-General.

3. Consultation with Public Service Commission unnecessary.

4. Governor-General's powers not affected.



His Excellency the Governor-General in exercise of the powers
conferred upon him by article 103 of the Constitution of The West
Indies and of all other powers him thereunto enabling hereby makes the
following Regulations:-

Short title. 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Appointment in the
Public Service (Shipping) (Delegation) Regulations, 1961.

Delegation 2. Subject to the provisions of regulations 3 and 4 of these
to Deputy Regulations, there is hereby delegated to the Deputy Governor-General
Governor-
General. the power to make appointments (including appointments on promotion
or transfer) to th- under-mentioned offices in the public service of
The West Indies required for the ships to be given to the Government
of The West Indies by the Government of Canada:-

Master
Chief Officer
Second Officer
Third Officer
Chief Engineer
Second Engineer
Third Engineer
Fourth Engineer

3. Permission is hereby granted to the Deputy Governor-General Consulta-
to exercise the powers vested in him by regulation 2 of the Regulations tio with

4. Nothing in these Regulations shall affect the exercise by the Governor-
Governor-General of the power vested in him pursuant to article 103General's
of the Constitution to make any appointment to any of the offices affected.
