Amendment 2. The Principal Ordinance shall have effect,
to section 2 and shall be deemed always to have had effect, as if of the Principal Ordinance. immediately after subsection (3) of section 2 the
following subsection were added:

1. Short Title. These Regulations may be cited as the House of Representatives of The West Indies (Remuneration of Election Officers) Regulations, 1958.
2. Interpretation. In these Regulations "the
Ordinance" means the IVontserrat Constitution and Elections Ordinance, 1952, as adapted and modified by the Adaptation of Laws (Elections to the House of Representatives of The West Indies) Regulations, 1957.
3. Rates of Pay. The following amounts shall be paid to the election officers hereinafter mentioned for their services in connection with the duties assigned to them under the Ordinance:(a) To the Supervisor of Elections $85.00
(b) To the Returning Officer 50.00
(c) To every Deputy Returning Officer 30.00
(d) To every Presiding Officer 15.00
(e) To every Poll Clerk 10.00
(f) To every Poll Clerk and every witness

4. Travelling. For travelling in connection with an election:(a) Election officers who own cars shall be paid at the
rate of 20 cents a mile; and
(b) Election officers who do not own cars shall use
Government contract cars.

In exercise of the powers vested in the Governor in Council by section 3 of the Cotton Protection Ordinance, 1922 (No I 'of 1922), as amended by the Cotton Protection
(Amendment) Ordinance, 1926 (No. 1 of 1926), I, ARTHUR FRANCIs DAWKINS, Administrator of the said Colony, by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said Colony, do by this my Proclamation declare that 01e period from the 1st day of June, 1958, to the 31st day of August, 1958, both days inclusive, shall he a close season within the meaning of the said Ordinance for the whole of the Colony of Montserrat (except the. Planting Date Experimental Plots under Government control, to which this Proclamation shall not apply).

ORDER IN COUNCIL DATED 11lth APRIL, 1958, MADE BY THE
GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL UNDER SECTION 16 OF THE MAGISTRATE'S CODE OF PROCEDURE ACT (CAP. 61), AS AMENDED APPOINTING THE PLACE WHERE THE MAGISTRATE'S COURT SHALL BE HELD.
WHEREAS by section 16 of the Magistrate's Code of Procedure Act (Cap. 61), as amended, it is enacted that the Governor may by Order in Council from time to time appoint the places where and the time when the Magistrate's Courts shall be held in the Colony.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Governor in Council doth hereby order and appoint as follows:1. Citation. This 'Order may be cited as the Mlagistrate's Courts Order, 1958.
2. Sittings of Courts. Until further Order, the Magistrate's Courts for the Colony shall be held at 10:00 a.m., or at such other time as the Magistrate may appoint on the days and at the places shown hereunder(a) At the Legislative Council Chambers, Road Town,
every Wednesday and on such other days as the
Magistrawte may appoint:
Provided that no Court shall be held while the
Supreme Court is sitting in the Colony.
(b) At the Government Clinic Building, The Valley,
Virgin Gorda, on the second l'hursday in every month and on such other days as the Magistrate
may appoint.
3. Rescission. The Magistrate's Courts Order, 1957 (S.R. & O. 1957, No. 17) is hereby rescinded.
4. Commencement. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of May, 1958.
