he Education Library in Norman Hall
supports all the degree programs in the
College of Education. The collections
consist of more than 133,000 volumes, approxi-
mately 600 active journal subscriptions, and
more than 610,000 microforms representing
several collections.

Accessing Education Related Materials
Significant materials in the Education
Library include the Children's Book Collection,
the K-12 Textbook Collection, several micro-
fiche collections, the complete ERIC Document
Collection and the History of Education

Books dealing with education topics are
found mostly in call numbers beginning with
"L." Some specific areas are:
LA History of Education
LB Theory and Practice
LC Forms and Types of Education, Social
Aspects, Dissertations, etc.
LT Textbooks

Education related journals are too numerous
to list. You can find them by looking in the
libraries' electronic catalog, by a keyword search
using education periodicals or a subject search
such as education Florida periodicals.
Journal articles dealing with education can
be found in many databases, all of which are
linked from the UF Libraries' home page:
http://www.uflib.ufl.edu. A few of the more
highly used databases for educational research
are: EBSCOhost, FirstSearch/Wilson Select Plus,
ERIC, psycINFO, Lexis Nexis, and Academic

The Education Library is open Monday
through Thursday 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.,
Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from
10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m.
to 10:30 p.m. Special holidays and school
break hours are posted in the library or you
may view them at
