Squares without a letter indicate that information is not currently available. S means safely used in my tests and other letters
denote that the compound caused phytotoxicity in at least one test.
A (stunting)
B chlorosiss)
C (marginal burning)
D (distortion of new leaves)
E (necrotic spots)
F (leaf cupping and drop)
G (stunting and chlorosis)
H (chlorotic spots on flowers)
I (inhibition of rooting)
Thiophanate methyl (Topsin M and Cleary's 3336) was found safe on ageratum, chrysanthemum, coleus, hibiscus, marigold,
pansy, petunia, photinia, poinsettia, rose, snapdragon and zinnia. Mancozeb (Penncozeb) and maneb (Maneb) were not safe as a
drench on-chrysanthemum, geranium, pansy, poinsettia, snapdragon or spathiphyllum and apparently caused severe root damage
resulting in marginal leaf chlorosis and necrosis and stunting. Mancozeb and maneb were also unsafe on marigold when used as a
foliar spray and caused severe chlorosis, necrosis and distortion.
