RE: Transfer of Territory to St. Johns and Suwannee
Water Management Districts
Dear Sonny:
I have reviewed your memo of January 2, 1975 to Bill Allee
which you sent to me together with other attachments. Is
there anyway possible that we can advance the deadline set
in your memo?
January 22 is the date that DNR has arranged for a meeting
between the various water management districts and the Corps
of Engineers. The subject is bound to come up.
February 4 is the date for the next DNR quarterly meeting of
water management districts. The subject will come up again.
Materials should probably be in the hands of the Governing
Board, at least in preliminary form, prior to the February
meeting.
February 10 is the start of another series of House Committee
meetings in Tallahassee. I'm sure this subject will be dis-
cussed at that time.
By mid-February we should be in the middle of discussions with
the House and Senate appropriations committees, and I'm sure
the Governor's office (or DOA) will be calling for additional
information about this subject almost anytime.
I recognize that all of this can't be done to meet each of
these deadlines, but I am suggesting that a preliminary report
be made at an earlier date and updated periodically, about
every two weeks, thereafter.
Sincerely,
L. M. Blain
