promoting THE 1ST ANNUAL SLAC OF FL FISHING EXPO planned
for Sat., November 19th out of Port Canaveral, FL on an 85 foot boat
called "Ms. Canaveral". This large fishing boat has an air-conditioned
galley. Everyone is welcome, including nonmembers! The cost is $65
adults and $55 kids (ages 6-17); no one under 6 years of age is

Silent, Believing,
Prayerful
At every manifestation
of a desire from heaven,
Joseph surrendered
himself, ready to answer
every .call, every
undertaking, every
sacrifice. The whole
ordering of his life He had
placed in the hands of
God. He listened always;
always he obeyed.
He did not know where
God would lead him. It
was enough that God
knew. Never once was he
wanting in submission.
He did not argue. He did
not look back. He did not
object. He did not ask for
explanations. To be
treated with no
consideration, to be given
no hint beforehand, did
not cause him to
acquiesce less promptly.
Nothing even to the very
end held him back.
His only pride lay in
fulfilling God's designs-
quietly, peacefully, so
silently that the
Evangelists can give us
no word of his. In all the
strange situations in
which God placed him, he
remained calm and silent.
He knew the duty of a

This quiet self-
effacement was but an
expression of Joseph's
homage rendered to

Eid-Ul-Fitr
Eid is an Arabic word
which means 'happiness'
that comes again and
again. The word 'Fitr'
refers to 'Fitrana', a
compulsory charity,
which is a fixed amount
on behalf of each member
of the family, and must be
paid at least, before the
Eid congregational
Prayer. The Fitrana
collected is distributed
under the administrative
set up,among the poor, for
them to enjoy the Eid
festivities. In addition to
Fitrana another
contribution, called 'Eid
Fund' is also expected
from each household.
Eid-ul-Fitr is also a day
of thankfulness after the
successful completion of
'spiritual uplift' at end of
Ramazan. The hardships
of Ramazan being over,
Eid is joyfully celebrated
by millions of Muslims,
throughout the world.
Eid-ul-Fitr invariably
occurs on the First of
Shawwal, the tenth month
Lunar year of Muslim
calendar. As -the lunar
year is shorter by eleven
days than the solar year,
Eid-ul-Fitr arrives eleven
days earlier rhan the
previous year. As such,

through every season, in
turn, throughout the
countries of the world.
This year, subject to
the appearance of the
moon, Eid-ul-Fitr is likely
to be celebrated on
November 4, 2005, that's
1426 Hijri of Muslim
calendar.
The moon having been
sighted, preparations
begin to celebrate the Eid
Festival on the following
day that is the First of
Shawwal. The
announcement about the
Eid moon having been
sighted is made-on Radio,
TV, with loud speakers
and trumpets as well. In
Muslim countries guns
are fired, a welcome
gesture to the Eid moon.
Buildings are well
illuminated, houses have
been well cleaned and
decorated with colorful
flags. Sometimes houses
and other buildings have

The investigators have
named as suspects four
Lebanese generals who
are close to Syria; they are
under arrest. The U.N.
report is due by Oct. 25.
