The Chipola Indians are the new No. 1 team
in Florida after ascending to the top spot in
the latest Florida College System Activities
Association baseball poll Tuesday.
Chipola (25-7 overall, 4-2 in the Panhandle
Conference) moved up from No. 2 to over-
take the previous No. 1 Tallahassee Eagles
(32-8, 4-3), who fell to the second spot in the
new poll.
The shakeup seems a direct result of the In-
dians' 2-1 series victory over the Eagles over
the weekend, with Chipola winning the first
two games 4-3 and 5-1 before TCC avoided
the sweep by winning Saturday's finale 7-4.
