PORTRAITS OF ILLUSTRIOUS MEMBERS
FROM THE ELECTED ELEMENT OF
DOMINICA LEGISLATURE
Government proposes to adorn the walls of
the new House of Assembly Chamber with a
selection of portraits of illustrious members from
the elected element of the State's Legislature,
posthumously.
2. The public is invited to nominate persons
whom they consider worthy of this honour.
3. Nominations will be subject to the following
criteria:
(i) Nominees should have served the House
as an elected member of the Legislature;
(ii) The qualifying period of service to be
during the years 1924 and 1966, that is
during the period commencing with the
advent of representative government and
ending with legislature constituted under
the Dominica Constitution Order in
Council, 1960.
(iii) The contribution of the candidate in the
Legislature must have been significant.
This may be indicated by length of serv-
ice, by the nominee having made some
outstanding impact on the social and
economic welfare of the community
during his tenure of public office in the
Legislature; or other appropriate quali-
fication.
4. Nominations should be submitted to the
Public Relations Officer, Premier's Office, Minis-
terial Buildings, Dominica to reach him by 30th
September, 1969. Each nomination must be
accompanied with the following relevant particu-
lars:
(a) Full name of nominee;
(b) Dates of birth and death;
(c) Length of service in the Legislature, with
dates;
(d) Grounds for nomination.
