Newspapers on Microfilm

The Serials Catalog should be consulted for precise dates of holdings. Such data is
too voluminous to list here.

The P. K. Yone Library of Florida History and the University Libraries have been
engaged for a number of years on a project for preserving on microfilm one news-
paper published in each Florida County. The project is nearing completion. They
are now receiving and filming one weekly paper from 44 Counties. They are pur-
chasing current films of 16 Florida daily papers in Counties other than those from
which they have filmed weekly papers. They are filming currently four daily
papers from still other fmuibMs

They have filmed all their St. Augustine papers of various years between 1838 and

They have about 5,000 reels of Florida newspapers. These average about 750
pages to a reel.
