Have been moved to May 2011 so they dont overlap with Open Access Week: see http://www.sparkyawards.org/ b. This may be an event to promote locally/on campus next year. 6. Report on Digital Commons (see Digital scholars lab at UVA and digital scholarship commons at Emory University, and depress Digital Commons a. See material provided by Laurie on UCLA Digital Library and CSUL Digital Initiatives Subcommittee (DISC) Analysis: Laurie b. There may be an opportunity to use/convert existing space in Newell Hall and apply for a grant to do so. c. Professor Boyle is recognized for his exceptional scholarship on the "second enclosure movement" the worldwide expansion of intellectual property rights and its threat to the rich public domain of cultural and scientific materials that the Internet might otherwise make available. An original board member of Creative Commons and co founder of Science Commons, Professor Boyle has worked for over 20 years as both an academic and institution builder to celebrate and protect the values of cultural and scientific openness. d.
