Abstract: University of Florida is developing Gaming Against Plagiarism (GAP), an online, interactive game in which STEM graduate students will learn to recognize and avoid plagiarism. The game will be collaboratively designed, tested, and evaluated through a multi-disciplinary iterative development pro-cess by recognized experts in graduate science education, gaming, academic integrity, intellectual property rights, and educational digital media produc-tion. The game’s open source approach will allow each institution to integrate its own code of conduct, relevant policies, and branding while maintaining a common focus on what constitutes responsible conduct of research. These games will meet the requirements of the America COMPETES Act.
