Esso Club Youth Members Keep Busy

During Summer Recreation Program

About 450 children each week
are having a wonderful time
in the activity-packed Summer
Recreation Program organized
this year in Seroe Colorado.
The program began July 5
and ends on August 27, and is
available to children of Esso
Club members between 4 and
14 years of age. Financed by
the parents through a weekly
registration fee, the program
provides sound entertainment
through a variety of activities.
The program's director is Jim
Downey, who is stationed at the
Youth Canteen, the activity cen-
ter, and is assisted by sixteen
counselors. They were selected
from a group of college and
local high school students and
several housewives, who direct
activities, give sewing, dancing

and swimming instructions, and
supervise their charges
The children hardly have a
dull moment. A different pro-
gram is set up each day to keep
them busy and happy. Their
varied activities include chess,
checkers and billiard tourna-
ments, puzzles, arts and crafts,
which are held at the Youth Can-
teen, Esso Club or Church Kit-
chenette. Outdoor activities in-
clude volleyball, tennis at the
tennis courts, baseball at the
Lone Palm Stadium, and swim-
ming at Rodgers Beach. The
children also go hiking, on is-
land tours, and picnics.
By the time the kids return to
school, they will no doubt have
pleasant memories of all they
did and learned while at play.

so by obtaining an entry form at
any local Esso Service Station,
and turn in as many slogans as
they desire before the fifteenth
of each month. The slogans of

judged every month by a panel
selected by the Aruba Traffic
