ton Riviere, left here yester-
day for the opening ceremony
of the Caribbean Festival of
Creative Arts this afternoon.
Mr. Riviere, an authority
on patois, the Afro-French
dialect of the Dominican peo-
ple. will also lead this coun-
try's erfforrming group at the
Caribbean Festival.
Dominica will have three
feature nights at the Festival,
during which it will exhibit
its locally manufactured pro-
ducts. recording and bro-
chures.
Record'ing of the island's
folk group, the Siffleur Mon-
tagne. as well as such pop
groups as the Swinging Stars,
the Gayl .ds and the Power
Union. will also be featured
during the shows.
The country will also par-
ticipate in international pre-
sentations and variety shows.
