Human beings--Effect of environment on
Undergraduate Honors Thesis

From the size of the plates people use, to whether or not there is music playing during a meal, environmental factors greatly affect food consumption. This review examines factors of the food environment as well as factors of the eating environment and the ways in which these factors lead people to over-consume. In addition, this review provides suggestions on how to combat the negative effects the environment has on consumption volume. When it comes to educating people on how to lose weight, the environment often gets overlooked; nevertheless, these factors play a major role in how much people consume, so it is in people’s best interest to learn about these factors and their effects.
