- The slides were taken on collecting trips sponsored by the William L. Bryant Foundation, where books, music and art indigenous to the regions were gathered. The are organized by geographical location.
- General Note:
- A young woman wearing a white dress and a watch is baking patties in an outdoor oven. Patties are baked, semicircle shaped flaky dough wrapped around grounded fillings. Patties are a common meal in Jamaica. Behind the woman is a concrete wall. On top of the oven is a zinc panel and concrete block. Slide labeled Jam.
