AXNNDXENT 6 TO B. A. I. ORDER 287-TO PREVENT THE SPREAD
OF FOOT-AND-XOUTH DISEASE IN CATTLE, SHEEP, OTHER RUMI-
SNANTS, AND SWINE, EXTENDING THE QUARANTINE TO INCLUDE
A PORTION OF SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA.
Effective on and after April 22, 1924.

The fact has been determined by the Secretary of Agriculture,
and notice is hereby given, that a contagious and communicable dis-
ease known as foot-and-mouth disease exists in livestock in San Ber-
nardino County, Calif.
Now, therefore, I, C. F. Marvin, Acting Secretary of Agriculture,
under authority conferred by section 1 of the act of Congress ap-
proved March 3, 1905 (33 Stat. 1264), do hereby quarantine that
portion of San Bernardino County in the State of California lying
south of the Angeles National Forest and west of that portion of
the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway running from the station
of Verdemont in a southeasterly direction to the western boundary
of the San Bernardino city limits, thence running southerly to tihe
Riverside County line, and do further amend B. A. I. Order 287,
dated February 23, 1924, as heretofore amended by amendments 1 to
5, inclusive, by adding the aforementioned area to the quarantined
.h; area established in said-mentioned order and amendments.
|f iIt is further ordered by this amendment to B. A. I. Order 287,
under the authority and discretion conferred on the Secretary of
y Agriculture by section 3 of the act of Congress approved March 3,
S 1905 (33 Stat. 1264), and section 2 of the act of Congress approved
S February 2, 1903 (32 Stat. 791), that the interstate or foreign
Movement of cattle, sheep, other ruminants, and swine from, into,
Sor through said-mentioned quarantined area, and the interstate or
Foreign shipment of the dressed carcasses of calves, sheep, and other
ruminants, and of the hides, skins, and hoofs of cattle, sheep, and
other ruminants, and of all hay, straw, or similar fodder, and of
wool, from or through the said-mentioned quarantined area, shall
be made only in accordance with and subject in all respects to the
conditions, requirements, and restrictions of said B. A. I. Order 287
and the amendments thereto.
This amendment, which, for the purpose of identification, is desig-
nated as Amendment 6 to B. A. I. Order 287, shall become and be
