2 Making Opportunities VisibleThe University of Belize (UB) held its eight annual Opportunities Fair on February 14 2011 at Central Campus, Belmopan. The Fair was held under the theme Making Oppor tunities Visible and it was designed to provide students with relevant information regarding free scholar decision with respect to their future and career. Students had the opportunity to interact with representatives tive participating organizations at the event. Organizations included the United States Embassy, Mexican Embassy, British High Commision, Development Finance Corporation, Scotiabank, Belize Defense Force, Belize Telemedia Limited, and Cubola Productions. Present for UB were Fa culty of Science and Technology, Bookstore, Students listening keenly to available opportunities Marc A.J. Melino, U.S. Embassy Domingo Rodriguez, Mexican Embassy




4 UB Black Jaguars... win again!The University of Belize (UB) Black Jaguars both male and female teams were victorious in their games at ketball Southern Regionals held last Saturday at UBs Recreation and Sports Center (Gym), Belmopan. Speakers at Opening of the event included UBs President Dr. Cary Fraser, who in wishing all teams success, spoke of the importance of sportsmanship, discipline, organization and working together to achieve this. Also present was the Dean of Student Affair, Mr. William Neal who thanked all teams for their participation. Teams included University of Belize Black Jaguars (male and female), Galen University (male), Ecumenical Junior College (male and fe College (male). lege (EJC) and Sacred Heart Junior College (SHJC) played the second game which ended up 77-54 in favor of EJC. The UB Female Black Jaguars toppled Ecumenical Junior College 27-21. The top UB Black Jaguar scorers were Glenda Torres and Kimberly Spencer. Since there scorers for UB Black Jaguars were: Farron Louriano, Winston Pratt, and Alfred Bainton. Galen uars. Top scorers were Farron Louriano, Daniel Nolberto, and Travis Lennon. Congrats!
