Japan Establishes Office to Handle Trade Complaints
The Government of Japan has established an ombudsman system to handle complaints
connected with foreign trade and investment. U.S. exporters who have an access
problem to the Japanese market can obtain materials describing how this system is to
work by writing to the Export Promotion Division, Foreign Agricultural Service, U.S.
Department of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. 20250. This system is new and untried
but, hopefully, it will help resolve bona fide access problems.
