Short Course

DATE: January 4, 1991


Thanks for agreeing to be on the faculty for the Florida
Chamber's Growth Management Short Course. As you can see
from the enclosed brochure, this short-course is a huge
undertaking which requires a great deal of coordination and
we appreciate your help.

Now that you have agreed, here's what you should know:

1. The date of the Short Course is Marpch" 13-15,; 1991.
We will not have the specific day and time your .subject
will be offered until about February 1, 1991.

2. The location is the Florida State Conference
Center, 555 West Pensacola Street, Tallahassee.

3. The Short Course headquarters hotels are the
Radisson Hotel $79 single/$89 double, Ramada Inn North
$58 single/$64 double, and the Holiday Inn University
Center $49 single/$57 double. The Chamber is not able
to reimburse for expenses so please make your own
lodging and travel plans. There is, of course, no
registration fee for faculty members and you can attend
courses while you are not teaching.

4. The time allotted for each topic is 1 hour and 40
minutes. The topic chairman is responsible fori
coordinating the presentation to insure the topic is
adequately covered and sufficient time is left for
audience questions and participation. Ltf you have not
heard from your topic chairman by January 15, please
call and let us help establish contact.

5. One of the outstanding features of the Short Course
is the written materials submitted on each topic for
inclusion in the printed notebooks. Due to space
limitations the written materials for your entire topic
is 20 pages (10 sheets of paper). Again, your course
leader is responsible for assigning portions of the
material for you to develop. The complete course
outline is due in our office no-later-than February 8.

Several other things that may be helpful to you are
attached:

a. The names, addresses and phone numbers of those who
agreed to be speakers with you plus our addresses and
phone numbers should you need assistance.

b. A course outline from an earlier Chamber
short-course which you may use as an example for
format, depth of coverage, etc.

c. A file folder to keep all of this together.

Also, attached is a brochure which should give you any
additional information you may need. If you know of anyone
who might be interested in attending the course, please let
us know and we'll send you more brochures.
