Management District

Dear Bob:

Receipt is acknowledged of your letter of June 25, 1968, con-
cerning the leasing of houses to the land owner or to the gen-
eral public.

Under the law, we may lease the property to the land owne: if,
at the time we close with the land owner in an actual settlement
and closing, the rental is set. As to the matter of renting the
property to the general pufic after the purchase or condemnation,
then it will be necessary to advertise the same for rental or
leasing to the public.

As to the matter of notifying the Tax Assessor, it is my sugges-
tion that if the rental is to be of a temporary nature, such as
used by the former owner or the public for a period of weeks or
several months, I see no reason to notify the Tax Assessor. If
the land is rented on a yearly basis, then I feel that you must
notify the Tax Assessor.
