ADA Revision '

The Application for Development Approval and the procedural rules

for DRI review need to be substantially revised to accomplish the


1) maximize coordination efforts between the DRI review and

permitting processes.

2) facilitate the review of developments of overriding state

benefit such as areawide downtown DRI's and other developments as

identified in the state Comprehensive Plan. The criteria to

identify such developments shall be developed by the Department

of Commerce in consultation with the applicable agencies.

\ 3) designate types of development or areas suitable for

development in which reduced information requirements for DRI

review shall apply.

4) Update the types and level of information required in the ADA

in order to eliminate unnecessary information submittals. 1

Therefore, the DCA in consultation with the regional r

planning councils shall initiate rulemaking by Octobr 1 87,

in order to revise the ADA and DRI review procedurar-tle -"

accomplish the above needs. Representatives from all regional and

state agencies which participate in the DRI review process shall

attend all rule workshops and public hearings held pursuant to

these rule revisions.
