WATER USERS ASSOCIATION OF FLORIDA, INC.
MINUTES OF ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING NOVEMBER 13, 1980
The Annual Membership Meeting of the Water Users Association
was called to order by President J.C. Norris at 12:30 P.M. in the
Banquet Room of the Ramada Inn, Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, West
Palm Beach, Florida.
Mr. Jacob D. Varn, Secretary of the Florida Department of
Environmental Regulation was the luncheon speaker. Mr. Varn spoke
on several aspects of water management and placed special emphasis
on activities of the water management districts and the possible
impact of a State Water Policy now in the draft process. The members
of the Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District
were guests of the Association to hear Mr. Varn.
President Norris spoke briefly on the Association's work during
the past year and expressed the opinio- that it had been very effective.
Executive Director Riley Miles reported briefly on activities
at the state and local level and highlighted the increasing effect-
iveness of the National Environmental Association's expanding
influence in Washington on environmental matters.

Schirard, Robert L. Searle, J.R. Spratt, W. C. Summers, C.A. Thomas,
John Tiedtke, A.R. Updike, Jr., George H. Wedgworth, F. Dalton
Yancey, III, and a representative of the Fellsmere Water Control
District. There were no further nominations and it was duly moved
and seconded and carried unanimously that the slate be accepted.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:10 P.M. followed by the Directors
