TALLAHASSEE--The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) today
announced that Carlos RiverodeAguilar has been selected as the director for the DEP
Southeast District located in West Palm Beach. Additionally,. -Peter J. Ware has been
selected as the.director for the DEP South Florida District located in Ft. Myers. Both
District Directors willbe responsible for managing and supervisingtheir respective Districts.

"Rivero-deAguilar i.nd Ware are.both experienced and well respected environmental
professionals," DEP Secetary Virginia Wetferell isaid.7 ,I a pleased they.have accepted
these positions because they will be an asset to the Department. :, : :L .

Rivero-deAguilar .has strong technical background, in numerous environmental
disciplines. This is a promotion for Rivero-deAguitar, who has been employed with the
Department since 1986 and is currently the Water Facilitles Administrator in DEP's Central
District office located in:Orlando. ,

Ware has 20 years of environmental management experience in the public and private
sectors. His experience extends to hazardous and solid .waste areas, petrochemicals, power
generation and resource recovery. Ware most recently ran his own consulting business, and
previously was resource manager and senior consultant with Delta Environmental
Consultants in Tampa.

Rivero-deAguilar received his undergraduate degree, in engineering from the
Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain, and received his masters of engineering in
environmental engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.

Ware received his chemical engineering degree from the University of Manchester,
England, with post, graduate studies at Texas A&M nd the University of Tennessee,
Chattanooga. : .:
