Dear Mr. Heuer:

Please consider this letter as a request for an extension of the April
30, 1993 deadline for the Authority's response to the District's request
for clarification of received information dated March 31, 1993, for the
two referenced permit applications. We request that the deadline for
the responses be extended until July 30, 1993 to allow time for
completion of the resource evaluation project (Law Environmental) and
the Authority's environmental assessment plan for adverse impacts to
wetlands. As stated in the March 1, 1993 submittal, these two studies
DirCors will be completed in June, 1993. As soon as these studies have been
completed, the Authority and City will be able to respond to the
Hildeorand questions posed in the District's March 31, 1993 correspondence. An
uiVYingst extension for the submittal deadline for the WY 1992 annual report for
ERaney the Northwest Hillsborough Regional Wellfield is also requested until
July 30, 1993. This will allow the corrected production quantities
e simn obtained from the meter testing program to be used in the hydrological
Jan Piat and ecological analyses.

Re: Cosme Odessa Wellfield (COSWF)
WUP #200004.03 Condition 16
Sherry C. Brink Water Quality Well Complaint Investigation
Dear Mr. Heuer:
On April 9, 1993 Ms. Sherry Brink contacted the Authority stating that
her domestic well was and is producing water of poor quality. She
requested the Authority to investigate and or mitigate her water quality
problems. My conversation with Ms. Brink has revealed that she does NOT
have a water quantity problem, only a water quality one.
The Authority has initiated a water quality study for the northwest
Hillsborough County area which would encompass the Cosme Odessa, South
Pasco, Section 21, and Northwest Hillsborough Regional Wellfields. The
DSSo, purpose of the study is to evaluate water quality data and information
from that region to determine if wellfield activities are having an
Ann Hidebrand impact on the quality of the water in that area.

Information from this study will be utilized to assist in evaluating Ms.;
Brink's water quality complaint to determine if mitigation activities
are appropriate. The results of this study are expected to be available
by July 1, 1993 and will be forwarded to the District as soon as they
become available.

If you or your staff have any questions regarding this information,
please contact me at (813) 996-2835.,
