No. 8.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Trinidad and Tobago
with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council
thereof as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Coroners' (Amend- Short Title.
ment) Ordinance, 1912, and shall be read as one with the
Coroners' Ordinance, No. 8, hereinafter called the principal
Ordinance.
2. If at any time the Medical Officer of the Royal Gaol Deth in
or of the Female Prison at St. James or of the Carrera prisons.
Convict Depbt is also the District Medical Officer of the
district in which any such prison is situated, the powers
vested in and the duties imposed on such District Medical
Officer by the principal Ordinance as to persons dying while

confined as prisoners in such prison shall not be performed
or exercised by such District Medical Officer, but by some
other Government or Supernumerary Medical Officer or
member of the Medical Board appointed for the purpose
by the Surgeon-General with the approval of the Governor;
and in all such cases the provisions of the said Ordinance
shall be read and construed subject to this enactment.

Passed in Council this Eleventh day of March, in the
year of Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.
