Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. Training Expeditionary Airpower Experts


Four crews load 'em up for Load Crew of the Year competition
On Feb. 1, the four Load Crew of the Quarter winners in the 325th
Maintenance Group for 2006 competed in a final competition for Load Crew
of the Year.
The competing crews were 43rd Aircraft Maintenance Unit crew 4M-1, l
2nd AMU crew 2-7 and 1st AMU crews 1-4 and 1-1.
Inclement weather played a factor in the contest but all four crews rose
above it, successfully loading six missiles each. The winner ofthe competition
will be announced at the Maintenance Professional of the Year banquet held
here in April.


Staff Sgt. Larry Pyne, Airman 1st Class Carl Bradley and Senior Air-
man Evan Johnson, 2nd AMU crew 2-7, perform munitions prepara-
tion on two AIM-9 missiles and fourAIM-120s.

Airman 1st Class Cedric DeBourban, Tech. Sgt. Nicholas Fears
and Senior Airman Brian Allen, 1st AMU crew 1-4, position an
AIM-9 missile for loading.


SeniorAirman Frantavious Dooley, Staff Sgt. Beejay Rennicker and Se-
niorAirman Raymond Porter, 1st AMU crew 1-1, carry an AIM-9 missile
during the loading phase.


SeniorAirman Angel Santiago-Ortiz, 43rd AMU crew 4M-1, pre-
pares a station prior to loading munitions. Staff Sgt. Jonathan
Leon-Guererro and Airman 1st Class Brenton Gates complete
the three-person crew.

Staff Sgt. Melissa Johnson, 325th Fighter Wing, re-
ceives the Checkertail Salute Warrior of the Week
award from Brig. Gen. Tod Wolters, 325th Fighter
Wing commander.
Sergeant Johnson reviewed, tracked and coordinated
over 270 Enlisted Performance Reports and Officer
Performance Reports and 400 decorations. She also
improved the EPR and OPR timeliness rate from 32
percent to 100 percent in four months.

The Checkertail Salute is a 325th Fighter Wing
commander program designed to recognize
Tyndall's Warrior of the Week. Supervisors
can nominate individuals via their squadron
and group commanders. Award recipients re-
ceive a certificate, letter from the commander
and a one-day pass.


Congratulations to

the325th MDG

The 325th Medical Group was recently named the top
performing CONUS large clinic in the Air Force by the
Air Force Surgeon General.
The 325th MDG's Eagle team was also awarded as the
top performing primary care element in AETC.
