The junk I threw away; unfortunately, I cant ignore my bills. But the renewal notices, I was actually thankful to see, it helps me. Without them, wed likely forget we need to renew our license or credit and membership cards. The most important things in life that need renewing do not come with renewal notices. We will never open a piece of mail and see a notice to re new our love for our spouses, our children or our friends. But if we dont continually renew our love for them, it will eventually grow cold. The same is true of the most important renewal notice of all, which is to remind us to renew our relationship with God. Psalm 51:10 says, Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. This is your renewal notice. Renew your love for the ones you love today. Renew your love for the Lord. Renew your love for the things of God and for his calling upon your lives. GTMO from above Cooper Field Complex The BOQ and MarinaPhotos by MCC(SW) Bill Mesta

McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc., in consultation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), voluntarily recalled all unexpired lots of certain over-the-counter (OTC) Chil drens and Infants liquid medications which were being sold at the Navy Exchange. McNeil Consumer Healthcare recalled the products because some may not meet required quality standards. The recall does not mean the medications will cause adverse medical events, however, parents and caregivers should not administer these products to their children. It is unlikely that the medications would cause serious medical effects, but the com pany advised consumers to discontinue use. May 7, 2010 5 HURREX tests base emergency responseBy Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Leona Mynes All Guantanamo Bay commands participated in the installations Citadel Gale 10/Hurri cane Exercise (HURREX) May 3-6. The exercise prepared personnel to respond to the threat of a natural disaster caused by a hurricane in accordance with U.S. Fleet Forces (USFF) Command and Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) installations in the Caribbean is lands, gulf region and east coast. The exercise involved two simulated into hurricanes. The Defense Media Activity (DMA) detachment Guantanamo Bays role during a hurricane is to broadcast important informa tion to the community over the bases three radio frequencies: FM 102.1, FM 103.1 and AM 1340. The exercise this week has allowed us to take a more hands on approach to be pre pared in case of an actual storm, said Chief Mass Communication Specialist Kristen Loeding. It allows us to test our equipment and procedures to ensure were ready and to get the most up to date information out to the community. The information DMA GTMO put out was about storm information and announced conditions of readiness (COR) that were set When we hit COR 4 and COR 3, we make the announcement every hour, said Loeding. 2, meaning hurricane force winds are pos sible within 24 hours, DMA GTMO personnel man the radio station 24/7 and announce conditions or information passed down from When we receive updates such as closures and conditions we are able to im mediately push out that information to the community, said Loeding. A battery operated radio is part of the disaster supply kit, which can be found in the Hurricane Readiness Guide, which can be found on the Naval Station intranet.
