SUBJECT: Pubic Restrooms on St. George Street
In order to get the public bathrooms to a standard of cleanliness
that goes beyond the level of the normal cleaning employed by our
agency, I would appreciate the Maintenance Department undertaking
1. Using the type of cleaning agent that is used on cement
surfaces, the type that is perhaps used in gas stations,
V3O 7 clean the entire cement surface that is in front of the
building. Also, clean the surface that is under the
2. Using the most powerful agent that you can find, an acid of
some kind I suppose, clean the inside floors in both restrooms
in order to get rid of the pervasive urine smell that seems
to be always present. Some portion of the walls may also
o(0 require this acid treatment. You may perhaps consult with
the Department of Transportation as to the cleaning agents
used in the interstate highway rest stops and to the
frequency of use.
(03 g- 3. Please put new seats on the toilets in both rooms.
0Q-3 4. If the stalls need painting, please paint them.
5. Please place a few hardy potted plants in the triangular space
to the right as one comes into the area.
6. As a help to me, David, please call Coca Cola and see if they
will replace the present coke machine, which is scratched and
hard-used, with a new one of the same type. Incidentally, the
area under this machine and the empty spot next to it need the
same cleaning as the rest of the cement surface. The wall
behind the machine needs paint. If Coca Cola will not replace
the machine, its facade should be cleaned.
7. Please make sure that if the street doors to the restroom
have to be closed while some of this work is going on that
an appropriate sign is placed on the doors so that the public
will be informed.
