When the Kanuris came, they did not come to fight only
Garkida. Villages like PFahai and others near Garkida were
During the time they were here for seven days, there was
a man called Tadzikwui who lived on the Fwahar hill. At that
time, Garkida was very small and the most part of it to North -
today was in Pwahar village Kutamular, Hill Pella and
Hirra at that time, whenever Joro Gwala comes he enthron es
Pwahar chiefs and also Garkida chiefs. Garkida was just th"e
small area around the tMlimkida near the church. /
When these Kanuri was men came, they made their camp
Binu. In one of these seven days they stayed, Tadsikwui, one
day came down from the hill and sat at its foot. He had
with him only two arrows and his bow.
The Kanuris then saw him and their Kachalla with some of
his soldiers climbed their horses, coming to attack Yadzikvui.
The Kaehalla was dressed in lubudu made of iron and cotton -
and his horse was. dressed in lubudu also. To shoot at such a
well dressed man is harmless, but Yadzikwui got his chance,
because when the Kachalla was coming, he opened his mouth
making war sounds horrah huh, huh and when he was near
enough, Yadzikwui shot him in the mouth. That was how the
Kachalla was killed. He was buried at their camp place at
Hirru, but when the Kanuris had gone, no one could find his
grave. Tadsik ui was not in Garkida nor was he in Fwaha. The
two villages were separate,
