They are moving the people from Joberg to Pretoria for trial and holding.
'hings are getting worse. Think they should get better but wonder about state witness.
The committee of Ten is now the Civic Association (with an 8 member executive committee) there
was a need to change the structure and at the same time phase out the mame.
Could not be drawn into AZAPO nor into UDF because of the tensions between the two.
Sympathetic with UDF in nonideological (charterist) seen as p&tiagxa pulling all efforts of
extraparliamentary structures together. Groupings in black consciousness (BC) question WktA,-i.--
the NIC, TIC, are operating out of ethnic basis.
BC svms that all communities form one community. AZAPOi is a national political grouping and can-
not come aom under one organization id thout splitting the loyalty.
Class structure-between the haves and have nots,
Focus attention on what one can do. If action issues exist thep it is possible to bring the
masses together.
The Freedom charter is socialist and the UF charter is socialist so what is the difference?
BC has been through black communalism and is now moving into scientific socialism.
Personalities; the hawks in the leadership have been together snxzm in BC.
The rejection of whites by BC sent them to UDF where the whites seek vengence even though
UDF blacks fought for the inclusion of the whites.
If we are going to work with the whites than we8d best start to do it.
The UDF urged whites to vote no in the referendum while *BC favored a boycott from the first.
The Stay Away was an African issue, and the whites, Indians, and coloreds did not.


Tutu, as a legate has the right to listen to anybody. He is seen as a leader. He has talked
bravely andopenly e and has fought against the system.

Oppression, suffering need redress. The effort to be with the people i aims to try to redress
the suffering.
By doing practical projects ideological effectiveness can be tested.
Try to be where action is needed and where people are doing something.
People outside can only come in through people a inside. The people inside must act and the
continuing repression givesthe impetus to people to do so.
Companies may not invest because the rand is down.
Companies may disinvest because the rand is down and the social trouble.
Companies may it ixnal slow the rate of investment.
If disinvestment were to come in prosperous times then there would be a show of support for it
rather than the present attention to self interest.
Wealth is seen as natural resources. .
Indians and coloreds do not have Bantustands.
