CONDITION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

S GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Gazebo is a raised masonry structure,
Sf-p-entagonal in plan. The barrel tile roof is supported by hollow
circular wood columns which bear on battered walls. There is an
opening to the east facing a rectangular extension of the floor.
The building is oriented so that one of the points of the
pentagon faces east. The wooden postsin this location has been
replaced with a2-etal column A
There is a wooden ceiling which is penetrated by S-re a4 recessed
light fixtures.4 ac cQ_-, Ld o-i e

CONDITION: The masonry base is in fairly good condition. There
is some minor cracking, as well as partial failure of earlier
grout repairs.
There is some rot evident in the base of the southeast wood
column as well as in the circular portion of the south-west
column.
An area of rot was noted in the ceiling in the vicinity qf the //
southeastern recessed lighting fixture.-,-t _
The terminator tile on the east ridge of the roo is loose. There
is some fern growing along the north-west ridge.
The paint on the columns and ceiling is in fair condition.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

1. Rake out old grout, clean cracks mechanically, and re-grout.

2. Repair rot in columns utilizing epoxy injection and
consolidation techniques.

3. Have roof inspected by qualified firm to determine source of
leak. Repair as necessary. Re-fasten loose terminator tile.
Remove fern.


4. Wash down, sand, scrape, and paint out columns and ceiling.
