CITY OF ST. AUGUSTINE

MEMORANDUM

TO: Wm. B. Harriss, City Manager

DATE: February 22, 2000

RE: Reconstruction of the Santo Domingo Redoubt and Cubo Defense Line

As you will recall, the City was awarded a $300,000 grant from the Florida
Department of State for the reconstruction of the Santo Domingo Redoubt and Cubo
Defense Line. We have solicited interested firms in performing architectural and design
work and staff has evaluated and ranked these four (4) firms based on their submittals.
The rankings are as follows:

1. Ivey, Harris & Walls, Inc.
2. Gresham Smith and Partners
3. Henry A. Sheldon, P. A.
4. Renker Eich Parks Architects

We need City Commission authorization to negotiate a contract with the
Number-1 ranked firm Ivey, Harris & Walls, Inc. The City in conjunction with the St.
Johns County School Board and the National Park Service has committed $515,300 in
local cost share for this project, most of which has already been expended.

Should you concur, please place this matter on the upcoming Commission
agenda for their consideration and approval.
