RE: Lion Sculptures

Dear Mr. Segal:

I have received your letter of June 19th, (extra copy attached) and wish to
thank you for the information regarding Earl Tennent Associates. As I indicated in our
telephone conversation City staff and FDOT staff are actively discussing ways and by
what amounts FDOT would compensate the City, should the City take the active lead in
protecting, relocating, conserving and storing both lions during the upcoming bridge
work.

We believe it to be in our best interests to take charge of such an
undertaking, and FDOT staff concurs. City staff is finalizing its cost estimates for such
work and will be forwarding those estimates by the end of the month. Afterwards, we
anticipate a formal agreement would be executed by both agencies.

Please feel free to contact me, 904/825-1005, x-1011, if you have
questions or require further information.

Sincerely,

Jack Cubbedge
Assistant City Manager

Re: Lion Sculptures

Dear Mr. Cubbedge,

Recently, I called you regarding the handling of the marble lion statues at the foot of the Bridge of
Lions during the rehabilitation of the bridge which is currently slated for 2004. As I understand
it, the city is responsible for the transportation and storage of the statues during the time of
construction and is to be reimmersed by the FDOT for the expenses incurred.

I was able to locate the name and address of the installer which Enzo Torcoletti used for his
project at the I.R.S. building in Atlanta. I worked as an assistant on the project and was familiar
with the delicate nature of the installation. Having worked on several restoration and sculpture
projects similar in scale, I was impressed with what they accomplished. If you are interested in
contacting them the information is:
Earl Tennent Associates
10745 Plantation Dr.
Elphereta, GA 30022
(770) 751-8835

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance in this matter.

Sincerely,

Joseph Segal
