SUB:. ECT: ELECTRICAL. FEED TO LOGGI A LIGHTS OFF EAST WING,

GOVERNMENT HOUSE, DOS 8449:1.0010

During he demolition and construction of the East Wing

renovation:i the light swi tch for the loglgia .lights was buried and

lost. An at tempt to search through the finished walls to

retri -.eve th electrical conduit and re-feed the power to the

lights was unsuccessful. The attempt was made by St. Augustine

:Elec:trical Company. It was determined that cutting small holes

where t.:he sw:itc was expected with the hopes of re-hooking up the

system was the least expensive and intrusive method to accomplish

the goc:al.

The :cos: of repatching the holes might not be covered by the DOS

8449 C: contract. because all the money under that contract has been

sa.ent. I re,-omi mend that the holes be patched and repainted and

the expense be covered either by the general operating expenses

or the maintenance budget, if there is not sufficient capital in

the project budget. The cost should not exceed.$500.

I would recommend that some method to re- feed the loggia lights

be undertaken when a use of the area is known. There are several

methods that co ul d be acco:mpli shed with either surface mounted

fees ::r drilling down from the second floor.
