Memo AUGUST 17, 1988



TO: HECTOR MIRON

FROM: DAVID SCOTT)J

SUBJECT: DOS-8449-A



In our meeting this morning with H-erschel Shepard several

elements were clarified in relation to the construction of the

East Wing and Theater Fire Wall.



1. it was suggested that I be given the authority to supervise

the construction process. I will be the person that answers

direct construction related questions and coordinates the various

trades.



2. We selected Len Weeks to be tahe acti. ngi major. sub-c: ontractc r on

the job. His. proposal dated July 20, 1988 was accepted by the

you and the agency as a working model that will allow him to

supply basic c onst ruct ion support. Mr. Shepar d recommended that

Mr. Weeks would Ibe the best perv so. n fo r such a support po siti on

and you and I agreed.



3. It was su ggested that a meeting i::e set up where Mr Janson

would d come n a rev i ew the c on st r uc t i on pr ocess as an

informational ex'erc ise.














4. Herschel was asked to give a presentation to the Board of

Trustees at some time in the future to outline the project.



5. In discussing when the project would take place with Mr. Lakes

from Flagler College, it was decided that if we could delay

construction in the theater until th e end of the fall semester

19838, that would put less of a bur :en on the college. It was so

agreed upon.



6., The tentative schedule is as: follows;
