CONCLUSIONS

1) N.E.C. Violations:

Correct Life Safety Violations/Renovate East
Project name, Wing, Government House, St. Augustine ,


Auditorium and display areas, only.


(1) Conduits below panelboard B require support, per N.E.C. Article 348-12.

(2) Open holes (knockouts) in junction boxes require plugs, per N.E.C. Article 110-12(a).

(3) Old devices in old boxes With protruding conductors require protective enclosure,
or cover, to prevent contact with any conductor which may become energized, per
N.E.C. Article 110-3(a)(2)(8). This condition existed prior to the current
contract, and was not created by the current work.

2) Comments


(1) Smoke detector located in return air plenum (new floor trench)
appears to be exceptionally insensitive to large quantities of


functions, but it
smoke.


(2) The electrical foreman, Mr.Mickey Owen, slated that N.E.C. violations listed
in 1)(1) and 1)(2) above, would be corrected within the following working day.


(3) With assurance from 2)(2) above
satisfactory and suitable for i


, the new electrical system will be considered
ts intended use.


3) Recommendations

(1) State personnel at site should arrange to have old abandoned and exposed electrical
devices and wiring removed, or covered.

(2) State personnel at site should assure that proper operation 'f smoke detector in
floor trench plenum is verified by the manufacturer.
