Correction of Fire Code Deficiencies
St. Augustine, Florida
State Project DOS-8449
Referencing your present Area A/E agreement with the Department of General Services, we re-
spectfully request a proposal for providing full architectural services for a small project
at the Government House in St. Augustine for the St. Augustine Historic Preservation Board.
The project program requires the correction of certain fire code deficiencies described in
the enclosed copies of related correspondence, namely:
Letter, August 3, 1984, Fire Marshal to HSAPB
Letter, September 13, 1984, Fire Marshal to HSAPB
Program Description, September 24, 1984
I suggest you review this material, visit the facility and discuss the program in more de-
tail with the Deputy Director, Mr. Hector Miron, telephone 904-824-3355.
of $25,000 has been appropriated for this project including A/E fees. It there-
without saying that the A/E, with the concurrence of Mr. Miron, will have to be
in establishing priorities of work.
When you are satisfied that you understand the program, would you please submit to me within
one week a written proposal for providing the required professional services, broken down
in accordance with the design phase of submission and contract administration.
As far as DGS is concerned, and in consideration of the limited scope and size of the pro-
ject, the design submission can be limited to Schematic and Construction Documents, with the
Schematics merely a verbal description of the items of work being recommended for base bid
and alternate bids.
Upon receipt and review of your proposal, I will call you to arrange for a mutually convenient
time for a telephone negotiation. If you have any questions, please contact me at 904-488-5885.
